Emily Warren:I actually was sort of pushed into a collaborative writing session when I was in college by someone who was managing me at the time. Once I had a few songs, I started sending them off to anyone whose electronic mail I could discover and concluded up sending them to an A&R named Rhea Pasricha who I had met a couple years earlier when she found my band on myspace. Emily Warren: There are two songs, "Merely Click" and "Not Ready to Trip the light fantastic toe", which I actually wrote back before I had really decided to practise an artist project. Whenever someone showed interest in them or wanted to cut them, I was super hesitant. That's when I realized it was time to put my ain music out. After that we set up some time bated specifically for writing the album. I like to continue writing for myself and others pretty separate.

Emily Warren:I think inherently the album has pop melodies and structure but because thats how I'm used to writing. That being said, I've really tried to abandon the expectations I hold when I'm writing for popular specifically, which has been challenging, only this album is really just creative expression and a real outlet for me.

ARE THERE ANY LYRICS ON THE ALBUM THAT ARE Actress IMPORTANT TO YOU, MAYBE DUE TO THEIR MEANING OR THE Style THEY WERE WRITTEN?

Emily Warren:The lyrics on "Not Ready to Dance" and "Just Click" are some of my favorite lyrics I've ever written. I wrote them both with Scott Harris and I'grand really proud of the story telling. If you focus on the lyrics they take you on a whole journey.

Emily Warren: Hell yes. There were a lot of truths that came out in my human relationship through the songs. Emily Warren: Aye, we actually spent a calendar week in Hawaii writing most of these which was really dope. A lot of the demo vocals that I cut that week ended upwardly making the tape but after that, since nosotros all live in different places, there was only a bunch of sending the songs back and along and tweaking product and getting them correct. From then on, it's merely getting all the visuals and everything else together.

Emily Warren:I know I'm beating a dead horse but I actually believe that if I write honestly and make sure what I say genuinely lines up with my morals and beliefs then it tin can take an empowering message. I think morals get lost when people write from a foreign perspective.
